#Purpose #MicroPurpose

To find purpose is awesome! To find it again and again is even better! But what if we haven’t found it yet? Should I be worried? Well, not really. You see, don’t be obsessed to try and find your “true purpose”. Don’t get obsessed in trying to find the “magic”….because believe you me…you easily miss the magic without noticing. Let’s try something…
Lets focus on living with purpose in the micro moments of our lives first. It’s the small things that matters most. Create purpose and intention in the small things that we do.

Diet change, to loose or gain weight. Exercise to get stronger/healthier/faster.

Create purpose, and over time your “micro-purpose” might just prepare you for your “Macro-Purpose”

“The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience” ~ Eleanor Roosevelt

I read a story about two brothers that decided to open a sashimi restaurant. But soon they noticed that groups of people would come in, look at the menu and then walk out again. They soon realised that some people in the group didn’t like sashimi, and so the group then decided to go to a place that would cater for the entire group’s taste.
This really baffled the brothers and they were torn about whether they should change the menu, or stick with their vision of a sashimi-only restaurant. They decided to run an experiment and added yakitori chicken to their menu.

Suddenly business was booming. The groups would now come in and stay. This might not make sense for some, but here’s the thing. One small change can change everything.

Least to say, it’s an opportunity to learn and to provide the foundation for more changes down the road. They still stuck to their vision of a sashimi restaurant, just not an sashimi-only restaurant.

Sometimes we should just take a minute and look closely at what a little change can do for us. Stick to our visions, stay focused, but desire perfection and #change so that we can move forward.

Okay so your last performance/exhibition/race/whatever… was not so great. Or needless to say it was sh@t! But hey, “You are only as good as your last performance. Right?”
Heard that one before? Well, here’s the thing….Yes you have a bad loss against your record. But that is that. That’s all it will ever be. Just a loss! Not a end game. It is not a judgment on who you are. It is just a loss.

If SPACE X have a failed launch, do you think they gonna pack up and go home? Give it all up and call it the day? Hallo? I don’t think sooo!

Ernie Else doesn’t stop playing golf because he misses a big putt. No, he learns fom his mistakes and strive towards being better next time. A missed opportunity doesn’t mean there won’t be a next time. But you need to #KeepMoving Don’t pack up!

Okay, so things started moving a little bit in a direction that looks like the correct one…and then it happens….things are standing still…or so it feels. But why?? I ask myself. Did I miss something somewhere? Answer…Nope!
There is a reason for that. It is called “The breakdown between cause and effect”. So don’t let the lack of immediate feedback discourage you from sustaining a course of action. For some actions there is a delay between “cause” and “effect”. The reason for this is that the result of certain actions are so small that they seem invisible. To make them a little bit more visible to yourself, it’s best you stay on course and be patient. Stay focused only on the steps in front of you. Do not get discouraged.

One day you will wake up and find that you have reached into the ether, and made real that which once only lived in your imagination. And #thatDay might be tomorrow…

I think we all get that time when we just can’t seem to make THAT choice….you know, the typical “should I stay, or should I go” choices.
Now, indecision is a sure route to frustration. Not only for you, but for those around you as well.

I am referring now to those decisions where you already know the answer and what you want to do, but you are procrastinating because of fear.

My advise today, to myself and everyone else, #JustDoIt

Make that decision and then deal with the consequences. Delaying will not make it easier. Make the call!

Sometimes things just fall apart. Sometimes we just patch the problem that we have and construct a temporary solution. Which we soon realise doesn’t last long. Recent #lifelessons showed me that to solve a problem, we need to outgrow it first. Which kinda means we have to #BecomeMore
Becoming the kind of person that can face and overcome the challenge before him, on a mental, spirtual and phisical level.

Of course, new growth brings forward a new problem to outgrow. And that is why we NEED to keep on growing!

“The greatest and most important problems of life are all fundamentally insoluble. They can never be solved but only outgrown.” ~ Carl Jung

I came across an interesting fact about the eagle. Something that I never knew. The eagle has the longest lifespan of it’s species. Nearly 70 years. But in order for the eagle to reach that age, he has a very tough choice to make.
When the eagle reaches the age of 40 years, his flexible talons can no longer grab the prey like they used to. Which means, he is hungry most of the times…probably depending on the amount of “easy” prey that runs around, I guess…

But thats not all. His beak starts to bend, and his old-aged wings sticks to his chest, which also makes it difficult to fly. At this point the eagle has only 2 options…DIE or start the painfull journey of change. Yip… unbearable pain. Should he choose this option, this is what happens…

The eagle flies to a mountain top and starts to knock its beak against a rock, until it plucks it out. Then waits for its beak to grow back. Once his beak is formed, he starts to pluck out his talons. When the new talons grow back, he starts plucking out his feathers. This painful change happens over a period of 150 days. After which, the eagle takes his famous flight of rebirth and lives for 30 more years…WOW! Isn’t nature just awesome!!

Back at ground level, I can’t help but admire the Eagle even more. Many of us , I think, also get to a time in our lives that we have to face tough choices. Choices that we know we have to take, but we are too scared of what we gonna have to face after making those choices. Well, I think if we look at the story of the eagle from another angle, we can pick up a few pointers. First of all, look at the sequence things are happening. He first flies up to the mountain, total isolation. Then he knocks his beak off. Plucks his talons, then his feathers. And I think that might be where most of us go wrong. We get the time, we make the choice of do-or-die, we isolate ourselves, but then we start feeling sorry for ourselves….

The eagle doesn’t feel sorry for himself. He stays focussed! At all times! He keeps with the rules, he doesn’t start with the feathers first and then the talons and the beak last…NO, he keeps his head in the game!

I think we can learn alot from the Eagle…
